Protective/Risk Factors for our health DUE: Next class

We have been reviewing factors which can influence our health. We have identified general categories as follows:

Protective/Risk factors:

1.  Environmental
2.  Psychosocial (relationships/thoughts) 
3.  Lifestyle/behaviour

For homework: Complete the Venn diagram we began in class where you identify factors in your own life that act as protective or risk factors in each of these 3 areas. Some aspects may act as both risk and protective ex. baby sister gives love but keeps us awake all night. : )

As promised I will embed the TED talk here that I mentioned in class. While premature, I think she strikes a good balance inviting 20 somethings to not just blindly follow someone else's plan for them nor kick mindlessly about imagining there is nothing of importance to learn in the 20s.
30 is not the new 20.
Note particularly the 3 bits of advice she gives near the end.

• Reflect upon what went well and why and how you might do even better next time. What could you add or change or learn to give your best interview?
• Write a Thank you/Follow up letter to the person who actually interviewed you. Get their proper name and reference the actual interview in your letter. Here is a link to give you an idea about how to do this task : Follow up letter contents and examples
• Letters Due Nov. 18 or 19.
