Values/ skills and interests homework

Hello Planners:

  • Over the last few classes we have been looking at our skills and interests. You were asked to create a chart that looked at aspects of life (page 15 of text) and you were asked to to make a chart showing your interest and activity in these various aspects of life. These are now due.  If you have any questions about this assignment please come see me outside class time.

  • We next did an activity where you narrowed down 10 of your top values (envelope activity)  You were asked to go away and write down how each of those values is enacted in your life. Show me how 'honesty', if it is a core value for you, happens for you. ex." When I don't have my homework done I don't copy my friend's work." Might be an example.

Please bring this assignment to submit next class.

Cheers,
Ms. S

What we Value!

Hello Planners,

Today we further explored the notion of VALUES - that which we hold to be important (morals/beliefs).

We did a few exercises to try to hone in  on what we value.

Homework due next class:

  • For each of the 10 values you chose as important, write and action you take toward your value or a thing you do that supports your value.
  • There ought to be 10 actions, one for each value.
Enjoy your long weekend!

Meta cognition reflection!

Hi Planners,

Today we did a series of activities designed to invite different mental processes. You were asked to notice your strategies and feelings, to interrogate your assumptions.

For homework please:

  • Write a reflection about how today was for you.
  • What was inviting and what was challenging and why?
  • What have you learned about yourself/this class and the way that you/we work?
Submit this next class please.

Enjoy these autumn days.

Welcome to Planning 10

Welcome to Planning 10!
This blog is where you will find:
  • Important dates ex. assignment deadlines, quiz, test, presentation dates
  • links that relate to this course
  • Some past hand outs for you to print off if you were absent when they were distributed in class
  • Ms. S' musings and quotes/clips that I would like to share with you such as the one below:

Please hear in this quote gender inclusive language. Hear also "She and "Her", and "WE" throughout as we consider "master[y] in the art of living."

"The master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both."
