As promised, here is an outline of what you can expect for the next several classes:
Please review all the information below to ensure you are keeping up with assessments.


  • June 1:  
    • Take home (net) versus gross income ($ vocabulary)
    • Social insurance number
    • The true cost of post secondary ed.  Assignment for marks in class.
  • June 5:
    • Credit/debt/interest
    • compound interest)
    • twin investing ($vocabulary)
  • June 7: 
    • Banking Assignment for marks in class.
    • vocab. review
  • June 9: 
    • Final vocabulary work/review/questions 
    • study for test.
  • June 13:
    • Financial Terminology test.
  • June 15: 
    • Hand in 'What I spent' sheets
    • write and submit a reflection on 10% saved over this time.

Unit test May 3rd /Presentation dates!

Hello all,

This is a reminder that your sexual healthy buddy test will take place May 3 Wednesday.

We will review on Monday!

Additionally, we are lucky to have booked "Blush" to come in and do 3 presentations for us. Please place the following dates into your calendars:

  • May 15 Respectful Relationships
  • May 24 Safer Sexy
  • May 26 Media Literacy
Interwoven through these times, we will be looking at financial literacy: spending/saving/investing and planning for our financial futures.

Date change!

Hello Planners,

Due to the fact that, we have a Fire Drill scheduled for Jan 17th @ 9:30am, we will postpone our inquiry research share/present until Thursday the 19th.

Instead, Jan. 17 will be when you submit your work to me for final assessment (spoken portion only will be assessed on the 19th.

Welcome back and what is on now!

Hello All,

Happy new year.

Today :

  • We got our SMART goals back. A few of you are going to add detail and resubmit. These are Due next class Jan. 5.
  • In teams, we 'made a plate' of good food, noting portions/proportions. 
  • We reviewed the food groups and talked about the main benefits of each/some sources of.
Next class:
  • We will analyze these Plates of food re: Canada Food Guide
  • Go over notes re: Nutrients/labels on food.
  • We are going to get ready for a research assignment/presentation on Nutrition
    • Study guides for this unit will be provided.
    • Stay tuned for dates/deadlines.
Homework: 
  • Bring a food item that has a food label,like you see here to class next day Jan. 5
