Hello all,
We are currently working in groups on our healthy eating research projects. These ten minute multimedia presentations will form the content foundation for our nutrition test in mid January.
Remember to organize your information in a logical, engaging, and 'usable' way. The idea is for us to find healthy eating fun, yummy, and easy to do!
PRESENTATIONS DUE: JAN. 8/9

The cold I have avoided during marks time has caught up with me. Sorry I will not be with you today. What follows are instructions to you and to your TOC.
- The TOC will write the 4 steps to a good short term goal on the board (tabbed in text on desk).
- If you have not already created your clearly stated and specific goal do so now.
- Ensure that your plan is point form, chronological and measureable.
- Check how your are doing ongoingly and how you will define ultimate success.
- Please remember that these are short term and so must be able to complete in 2 months.
- Again, if you have not already submitted a plan please do so by the end of the block.
- Next, The TOC will hand out Food charts (on my desk)
- For one week you are to keep track of all you eat and drink. This is not a matter of pleasing anyone but rather just for you to get a real picture of your habits.
- Start with today and then hand it in Dec.13/13
- Please indicate any supplements you take (vitamins/teas)
- give some idea of serving size.
- Next, the TOC will hand out the Canada Food Guides (on my desk and more on back shelf) These are for you to keep. We will use them a lot so hang on to them.
- If there is time you can do a general review of how to read the guide.
- If there is time, declare your favorite foods and check where they fit on the guide. What sort of nutrients do they possess.
I wish you all a healthy day!

Goal Setting assignment due next class
Hello Planning 10,
We have been looking at Protective and risk factors for our health. We have done our wellness wheel to get an idea of how we feel we are 'doing' health wise.
Today we looked at what does it take to turn issues/wishes into action.
1. Set a clearly stated/specific goal. (let it be useful and personal)
2. Make a step by step action plan. (time specific)
3. Have ongoing and culminating assessment of achievement . "How am I doing? How do I know?)
4. Define success/modify when needed.
It is important that one make allowances for unexpected or unwished for events. What might 'be a stumbling block' ? How might you plan ahead for possible complications?
Submit both your Venn diagram and your fleshed out plan next class (if you have not done so already).
